Pronoun Antecedent Agreement:

A Pronoun is a word used to stand for the place of a noun is called pronoun.
Antecedent:  An Antecedent is a word which a pronoun stands (Ante = Before)
Agreement:  The pronoun must agree with its antecedent in number.
Ex: Amna delivered her message to her friend.


Anaphoric Reference:

Anaphoric Reference occurs when a word or phrase refers to something mentioned earlier in the discourse.
EX = Ali went to the bank. He was annoyed because it was closed


Cataphoric Reference:

Cataphoric reference occurs when a word or phrase refers to something mentioned later in the discourse.

EX = Although I phone her every week, my mother still complains that I don’t keep in touch often enough. Her refers to my mother.
