• For the study of history there are two calendars are used in history of Pakistan.
  
• Christen calendar (عیسوی کیلنڈر): The first year of this calendar start with the birth of prophet Isa (A S).
  
• For christen calendar In Urdu a sign of letter (ع). And in English use AD (Anno-Domini).
  
• The time before the birth of Isa (Alai Salam) is mentioned through “Qaf, Meem” (ق،م) in Urdu and BC (Before Christ) in English.
  
• Christen calendar based upon the rotation of earth around the Sun and Earth complete its circle around the Sun is 365.25 days.
  
• Hijri Calendar (ہجری  کلینڈر): It starts from the migration of the holly Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Makah to Medina. For example the “Battle of Baddar” was fought after two years of the hijrat. Therefore it is written as 2H.
  
• Hijri Calendar starts after seventeen years of the migration during the period of the second Caliph Hazrat Umer Farooq (RA).
